Stop the war on drugs

The existence of a global war on drugs seems to be perceived but as of today we can safely say that the war on drugs has proved a failure , and the gigantic amount of resources that governments around the world under the tutelage and example of the United States spends it generates little or no positive results. In fact more and more people die, new drugs appear, crossing borders more drugs, more money is laundered and less progress can be seen with the current policy of prohibitionist countries against producer countries.

To avoid these and other diseases caused by these policies collateral damaging, since this space is proposed decriminalization and liberalization of drugs which would eliminate the huge profits that prohibition gives traffickers thus reducing corruption, violence, murder and mayhem this creates social. Internet is the ideal platform to shout everyone the real situation that generates the prohibition. Because make no mistake, the " War on Drugs "should rather be called the" war for control of drugs "it is obvious who the check will get the benefit of production and exploitation of them.

This is a long way, make no mistake, standardization of drugs is not a utopia, it is feasible and each day that passes leaves no reason to give those who defend this position. Today many countries have legalized possession of small amounts of illegal drugs but there are real ' lobbies prohibitionists' charge that does not happen by pressing directly to the states. Some countries have already abandoned the "zero tolerance" to which the U.S. adheres. In these countries more tolerant and realistic about the situation created is being regulated under different laws bills or personal use of drugs no longer be a criminal offense.

Once again, the U.S. proves to be the giant of the Western Hemisphere when it comes to the war on drugs. Washington will not tolerate even the smallest deviation from its policy of prohibition. Any country that attempts to reform the policy it risks arousing the ire of Washington and suffer economic and political retaliation expressed or implied.

To conclude this editorial, do not forget that one of the most odious of the war on drugs around the world is the custom of filling the jails with consumers (often social) drug. In fact, the real problem with limited legalization is not enough, the situation calls for a path to normalization it does not attack the root of the problem is the increasing incidence of violence and drug-related corruption worldwide.
